Description

The only thing hotter than the weather South of the Mason Dixon line are the boys. Worn, faded blue jeans, slow Southern drawls, and those naughty moments in the back of pickup trucks a girl never forgets. Welcome to the world of the Sutton boys. Five brothers who fight, party, drink a little too much, but more importantly, they love their momma. Nothing can tear them apart… except women. Especially a red headed beauty with secrets. No one truly knows her… not a Sutton boy… and not Dixie Monroe. Scarlet North smiles on the outside but inside her damage runs deep.

When I started this book I kind of had a feeling I already knew scarlets past. Parts of this book made me furious that a woman could love such an awful man but I knew that something would change and I would love him in the end. Parts of this book mad me cry my eyes out (like in public, where people thought I’d just gotten really bad news in a text) because I have a daughter... and I just couldn’t imagine... not loving her, not cherishing her every day. She’s 9. Parts of this book made me grateful for what I had and also reminded me of what I always wanted, to live in a place of my own with nothing but the quiet of no judgment or hurt and pride that I made it. Thank you so much Abby, for writing this book and every other one of your tales. I have now read all but two of your books and my love from your books started with the sea breeze series.

Was very jumpy. Didn’t stick and lock into the story all that much. I have read all of her books but 3 and this one was let down especially after the 1st in the series. Expected a bit more. Leaves you hanging, then jumps to the epilogue.

Abbi Glines has a way of turning pain into pure love with a key stroke. She does it again with the story of Bray and Scarlet. These two were meant for each other but in order to get them to that point, Glines has to drag her readers through the wringer. It's a sad tale with love, lost love, and new found love that readers will feel all the emotions with each new segment. I look forward to the next one.
